One-click Reposts
Many have asked for a single-click repost / reblog so it's now here. Hit the "Repost" button to reblog a post to your own site. No more popups and its super fast!
We're also now correctly tracking the repost sources so we will be able to display that under each post without writing duplicate "Reposted from" messages (displaying the Reposted tag will be completed later today Done).
We've also implemented the top navigation bar across both the /everyone and the blog pages if you are logged in as well as added a "My site" link to get to your own site quickly.
Update: There is now a "Reposted from <site> via <site>" that links to the last reposted person as well as the original poster. The links in the repost message also link directly to the reposted post instead of just the site's main page. There is also a repost count displayed if a post has been reposted.
Thank You.
What's next on your list?
Thanks from me, too.
Any chance of a Post to Loforo-Bookmarklet?
And maybe a personalised Avatar?
The avatar is a gravatar, so this should be possible with the an gravatar account 🤷
I'm still seeing a lot of the repeated content when browsing /everyone, even the from the same blog. Could you improve that, e.g. only show the earliest or latest post that refers to a specific content item within a certain time range (i.e. within a few hours or days)? Might also reduce traffic for you (though, since the imgs are cached, not a lot, probably).
Oh an the menu is broken on mobile (firefox). When clicking the burger menu the menu pops open for a fraction of a second and then I instantly get rerirected to loforo.com/users.
@gorky Check back tomorrow ;-)
@malborghetto Both are in the to-do.
@lekurt Yep they're all gravatars at the moment but we'll likely provide a native avatar solution
@edelbert The everyone feed is currently just pulling every post in the order it was posted -- we have plans to rework that to be more intelligent (and minimize seeing reposts)
@lekurt Thanks will look into it (I'm assuming you mean Android since Firefox on iOS works fine)
@loforo Admin yes the problem was with firefox on android. Don't know if you have already fixt it, but at the moment it works. Maybe it was a script that wasn't fully loaded
@lekurt I made a small tweak but hadn't tested it to see if it worked, glad to hear it!
@loforo
Thanks for the reply - looking forward to it
(BTW some way of alerting people to replies might be useful - sorry if this sounds greedy : )
@malborghetto Definitely coming -- we have a notification system in the works to notify of replies to comments, new likes/comments on your site's posts, etc
coming up with a crazy one: Some sort of communication/messages? After the sudden "Soup is dying" week, people might like the idea to exchange contact information with each other , without posting mailadds or phonenumbers open for everyone.
